Meet Evona

Evona is a curious island girl, desirous of useful knowledge, proud of her island, and in love with her native island to the extent that she has sung and written songs about it in the almost forgotten island dialect for the last 25 years. So, first and foremost, Evona is the guardian of cultural island heritage and the protector of the island’s identity. Declared island poet.

Raised by a fisherman, she spent her childhood in a beautiful small island bay with her grandparents, with whom she learned and adopted everything about self-sustaining methods and island lifestyle. She sees self-sustainability as the starting point and the main goal towards which she travels both privately and professionally. Among others, Evona participated in a European project whose goal is to implement environmentally friendly and self-sustainable ways of acting in tourism. The maritime heritage, traditional skills, and ways of her ancestors should be the base of the entire tourism offer. Allegedly, with Evona you can expect a journey into the past, that will, by no means, leave you indifferent.

She graduated from the Tourism Catering School in Split, then at the Faculty of Economics in Split, she passed professional seminars for the manager of a tourist office, tourist guide, and animator. She speaks fluently Croatian and English. Passionate about languages, she studied Italian, French, and German language. She started a family on the island. She is a happy mother of two boys and a lucky wife. She worked in different positions in tourism; manager of a travel agency, (she designed and implemented daily tours) hotel marketing & PR manager, etc. Evona actively follows the tourist offer and the market and she needs to be well-informed. Although she assures the best this island has to offer has existed for at least a hundred years.
